Meet the talent: Angela Bobic, Co-founder

Place of residence: Chicago, US – Belgrade, Serbia

Position: Co-founder of a full-service smart contract development agency called TokenFlow. I am in charge of business development and the global partnership side of the business.

Please describe a day in your life:

I usually wake up at 5:30 am. My morning routine consists of journaling, meditation, prayer, breathing, and mobility exercises. It takes me around an hour and a half to finish everything, but it prepares my mind and soul for any challenges a new day may throw me. After that, I start my day with a 3-4-hour-long deep work session. Around noon I head to the gym, have lunch with my family, and around 2:30 pm, I am already in the office with the rest of the team tackling challenges, taking calls, or talking with some of our clients. Around 8 pm, I end all activities and focus on my family, friends, or partner. Before bed, I love to read.

How many projects are you currently working on? Please describe them:

There are a couple of projects we are working on right now on multiple different chains, such as Avalanche, Polygon, and Ethereum. One is LongTerm Finance – tokenized index fund DeFi protocol tracking the market capitalization of the entire altcoin market. Another project is AMM DEX on the Optimism layer two scaling solution, forked from the Uniswap v2. Also, we just finished building a multi-sig wallet custom-built for secure transactions with ether & ERC20 tokens on over 20 EVM-compatible networks.

In your opinion, who is the most influential person/company in the world of technology these days?

While I believe nobody has accomplished as much as Elon Musk in the last decade, I would give the title of “the most influential person in the world of technology” to Naval Ravikant. His experience in the start-up scene and his ability to articulate complex topics concisely made him among the most respectable people among start-up founders.

If you could pick one app/product/project existing now that you wish you were involved in, what would it be?

Since I enjoy learning about disruptive technologies and spending time with ambitious founders, I wish to be more involved in the work of some incubators, accelerators, or VCs such as Binance Labs.

How do you see technology evolving in the next ten years?

Many tokens and chains will fade away when it comes to blockchain technology, and the one with the most utility and user-friendly interface will survive. We will live in a multi-chain app-specific blockchain environment.

What would you like the industry to look like in ten years?

There should be more regulation clarity around the crypto industry.

What are the three characteristics you have that make you successful in tech?

I am curious, action-oriented, and resilient.

What is the most challenging thing you had to deal with during your career?

All challenges we stumble upon are byproducts of our internal state. Therefore, dealing with and overcoming the problem usually means breaking some of my false beliefs.

What is your most outstanding achievement up until today?

I am maintaining my health and strong relationships with the people dear to me.

What do you wish yourself with respect to your career?

I wish to build a great team with a thriving company culture focused on building new generations of exponential entrepreneurs and investing in them.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

I see myself building businesses and relationships and maintaining good health.

What is your next goal?

My next goal is to build a strong support ecosystem for early-stage start-ups by partnering with leading VCs/Incubators/ Accelerators.

What are your tips for people wanting to start in the tech world?

Work on your mindset daily. Don’t be afraid of making mistakes. Embrace the idea of being wrong, and be willing to learn from others. Take risks. Bet on yourself. Build strong relationships with your team.

If you could say something to your younger self, what would it be?

Be yourself. Work hard and smart. Learn how to build and use leverage. Study the compounding effect. Never lose hope because everything is possible.

What do non-tech people around you (family, friends) think you do?

My parents are confused since my workday doesn’t fit their description of a “real” job. They are convinced I play games online with some virtual coins, chasing bottoms and tops.

What is the invention of the century in your eyes?

The invention of blockchain, particularly with the introduction of Bitcoin in 2009 by Satoshi Nakamoto, marked the creation of a decentralized digital currency.

What can’t you do without? (app/product…)

Notion app. It keeps all my writing and notes organized.

Which famous person would you like to have dinner with and why?

Satoshi Nakamoto, and ask him why he decided to stay anonymous.

Where would you like to travel next?

Dubai & Singapore.

If you were asked to stay on a deserted island for six months, what three things would you take with you?

Books, my journal, and a pen.

Do you have a person who influences or motivates you?

I try not to rely my motivation on externalities.

Last thing regarding which you told yourself, “how come no one has ever thought of it”?

I am shocked that we are not taught more in-depth gender distinctions from an early age. This old-aged wisdom would make my life a lot easier and less complicated.

What did you dream of creating/inventing/doing as a child?

A nose warmer for cold winters.

How did Covid-19 change the way people view technological development?

The world is divided into two campuses after the global lockdown. One is against new technologies such as 5G networks, vaccines, electric cars, and “virtual coins”, while the other campus embraces technology and emphasizes its importance.
