Italy’s antitrust accepts Google’s proposals to end data portability case

By Elvira Pollina

MILAN (Reuters) – Italy’s competition watchdog said on Monday it had accepted measures proposed by Google to end a probe over the tech giant’s alleged abuse of its dominant position in the data portability market.

The Italian watchdog opened the investigation last year following a complaint from an Italian start-up company.

The Observatory was established by Legislative Decree No 136/2016 and is under construction with the primary objective of collecting information on transnational posting on the territory of Italy such as the number of workers involved, the duration of the posting, the sectors and the most affected areas.
