It’s unquestionably the most successful GTA title of all time. However, some GTA fans wonder how much money the game has made in its lifetime. GTA 5’s success is also attributed to GTA Online, as players can purchase Shark Cards to get money in-game right away.

By 2020, GTA 5 made over $6 billion. Its recent years have been more profitable than some of its past years. An exciting study by NetBet looked through years of sales data and found that GTA 5 makes roughly $911 million yearly. In the same survey, GTA 5 makes approximately $2.5 million daily (Sportkeeda, 2022).

Is GTA 5 still popular?

Contrary to what you may think, On a day-to-day basis, GTA V has, on average, 1,249,401 players. GTA V player stats show the number of active players is constantly increasing by a small amount. This is surprising, given that the game came out so long ago. It is more common for user counts to decrease over time rather than increase. This is a testament to the success and popularity of the game.

The game has stayed popular for a variety of reasons. It is a game that almost never gets tiring because of its vast in-game options, missions and maps. On top of that, by adding and improving GTA 5 to include multilayer online, users got an endless and ever-growing experience. This was the first game to have a dynamic online open world for a realistic shooter game. From chasing your friends down highways to joining in robberies, GTA 5 online continued to impress. However, regardless of success, is it time for a change?

GTA: There is big news for the fans

GTA 6 was bound to come sooner or later. Well, it’s here! For thousands of fans across the globe, the next dream has come.

GTA 6 was officially confirmed earlier this year, though Rockstar revealed very little about the upcoming open-world game. Then the leaks started. Small bits of information started to trickle out here and there, some rumours and some from official sources.

Unfortunately, GTA 6 suffered a massive leak recently, showing development assets and footage of the game in its pre-release state. There was a lot to be taken from the footage, but it has since been taken down. Despite the vast amount of information on GTA 6, what the game ends up with remains to be seen. There’s still a bit of mystery here, including a possible 2024 release date and the question of where exactly it’ll be set.

While Rockstar Games has finally announced it’s working on GTA 6, it has said nothing of when the game will release, let alone confirm a release date. According to a recent report by Bloomberg, current and former Rockstar staff suggested that GTA 6 is still at least two years away from release, suggesting a 2024 launch date.

What’s happening with the announcement?

This time Rockstar did not tease an announcement, nor did it announce the game with a trailer. Instead, it simply included the announcement as part of a community post, making it difficult to predict whether there will be a trailer sometime soon. We saw gameplay footage from an early build leak in September, which is different from what will be in the final product.

Rockstar Games hasn’t confirmed where GTA 6 will take us, but there are a lot of rumours floating around. Although every online piece of information and juicy gossip morsel looks tantalizing, a few hold more water than others.

Where will the game be set?

GTA 6 will likely be set in Vice City, Rockstar’s fictional version of Miami, or at least a fictional version of Miami. As mentioned earlier, Bloomberg claims a source “close to the matter” suggests Vice City will appear in GTA 6, although Rockstar’s original plans were apparently more ambitious. That’s backed up by the leaked gameplay footage, one of which showed a “Vice City Metro” train.

So there’s a lot that we don’t know. But slowly, bit by bit, we will learn more about this momentous decision by Rockstar Games.
