AI is the two letters we find everywhere, and it represents the essence of new smartphones. If it all started last year with the Galaxy AI launched by Samsung, this year is a repeat because it is always the Korean company that sets the benchmark for the sector. It does so with the Galaxy S25 unveiled in San Jose in the usual triple version: S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra. The latter is the largest and most coveted, even if the differences with its two siblings are thinned out. This is because Samsung has revised the design of the Ultra, adding more roundness on the edges to show more uniformity in the S25 trio.
Then, they all have the same RAM, 12GB, and a minimum dose to support the multiple AI functions. The processor is also new and identical to the three models, with Snapdragon 8 Elite replacing the old Exynos that Samsung used until last year in European markets. A necessary improvement in power management to cope with the software novelties.
Among the major innovations that differentiate the S25 Ultra, besides the titanium body and the 6.9-inch display, is the 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera that also functions as a macro. The hardware changes ended there because, apart from the phone’s reduced thickness, with the advent of the GenAI, the ratio of the importance of the elements that enhance the strength and quality of a smartphone has been reversed: forms count less, substance is more important. The mission then is to answer the fateful question: what can I do with my phone?
The phone becomes a personal assistant
Following in the wake of last year, Samsung found the solution by pushing even harder on generative AI functions, thanks in part to its partnership with Google. Indicative of this is the release of Android 15’s OneUI 7 interface along with the new devices, which is useful because it has improved menus and added ways to navigate with gestures and voice.
Everything revolves around AI improvements, the mission of which is to help the user and facilitate their activities. To achieve this, Samsung has created a kind of personal assistant with an ever-watchful eye on what we do and what we need. Of course, most of the time the concept is aimed at speeding up actions involving the generation of content, as is the case with AI Smart Select, which allows us to select any item on the display. Just circle the element of interest with your finger, and AI will offer different actions related to the app we are using. In front of a text, it proposes to improve style and tone; if, instead, we are editing a video, it suggests effects to improve it.
Tips fit and perfect videos
Searching for a restaurant and sending an airline ticket to a friend are two actions that can be performed on the new Galaxy phones without having to touch the phone. You can simply use your voice to perform several operations on different apps without having to change the screen because the smartphone understands and interprets natural language. To start and end the day in the best possible way, Samsung has introduced Now Brief, a function that summarises appointments, news and personal data when you wake up, while in the evening, it provides an account of what you have done during the day.
Another useful feature is the recording of phone calls, to which Samsung adds automatic transcription and the ability to retrieve the text at any time to clear up any doubts. Think about conversations with doctors and professors, but also the details of a booking.
The search for perfection, on the other hand, is the aim of Audio Eraser, a function that refines the editing of audiovisual files by isolating different tracks. In this way, you can choose to increase or reduce the volume of speech, wind, music or any other sound source as required. Just imagine a concert and the video of your favourite song being ruined by the out-of-tune neighbour: with an Audio Eraser, every disturbing element is eliminated.

Availability and prices
What changes on the three models is the battery, with the Galaxy S25 having a 4,000 mAh module, the S25+ 4,900 mAh and the Ultra 5,000 mAh, with fast charging up to 65W only for the highest rated. Samsung’s seven-year update guarantee for OS and security patches should be highlighted. As for colours, the S25 Ultra is available in Titanium Silverblue, Titanium Black, Titanium White silver and Titanium Gray, while the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ are available in Silver Shadow, Navy, Icyblue and Mint. All devices include six months of Gemini Advanced and 2TB of cloud storage.
