Interview with Brent Lamm, Senior Product Manager of ThinkPad Portfolio
ThinkPad: At the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, one of the stands most frequented by journalists and insiders was the Lenovo and Motorola area. The reason is simple, because these are two companies that are trying to bring innovation by investing a lot of money in research and development to experiment with new device shapes. Focusing on design to surprise users is nothing new for Lenovo, which with its Yoga series was among the pioneers of 2-in-1 convertible devices. At MWC 2024 the most interesting novelty shown by the Chinese company was not a product but a prototype: ThinkBook Transparent Display Laptop Concept.
As the name suggests, it is the first notebook to feature a 17.3-inch, borderless MicroLED display with 1000 nits brightness. Also equipped with a keyboard that becomes a display and allows customisation of keys and functions, the concept looks to creative people who can draw by putting their subjects behind the screen.
To find out what Lenovo has in mind, why they made such a concept and when it will hit the market, we interviewed Brent Lamm, Senior Product Manager of ThinkPad Portfolio, Intelligent Devices Group, Lenovo. With over 20 years of experience in the consumer goods business, Lamm is an expert in managing the entire product lifecycle, from initial idea to design, development, procurement, manufacturing, supply chain, go-to-market strategy and final evaluation.
