Demo Lenovo Auto Twist AI-PC

Auto Twist AI-PC: Lenovo is the world’s leading manufacturer of laptops and has been travelling in two directions for years: on the one hand, it produces a large number of models aimed at the consumer and business sectors, and on the other, it flaunts innovative concepts in forms and potential uses, with the aim of studying people’s reactions and figuring out what to improve and where to intervene.

At the last Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, we met with Brent Lamm, Senior Product Manager of ThinkPad Portfolio, Intelligent Devices Group, to learn about the features of the Transparent Display Laptop Concept. This time, at IFA 2024 in Berlin, Lenovo showed a long list of Yoga and Ideapad laptops for users and new ThinkPads and ThinkBooks for businesses made together with Intel, AMD, and Qualcomm. But it could not miss a concept with a wow effect: Auto Twist AI PC.

Have you ever seen a PC that changes shape, tapers to become a tablet, rotates the screen 360 degrees to follow the user’s movements, and even dances to the notes of selected music while showing the movements of professional dancers? No, you have never seen it because Lenovo has only now shown it. Just say, ‘Hi Twist, open kid’, and the computer lifts the lid as it closes it after receiving the voice command “Hi Twist, Close did.” But not only that, because it then turns into a tablet if you say ‘Hi Twist, tablet mode’ to it, while it starts dancing after hearing ‘Hi Twist, dancing mode’.

Equipped with a motorised hinge that, as seen in the video, allows the device to move in any direction and transform based on the voice command received. This is not a pc that we will see on the market soon because it is a concept that Lenovo wanted to show in order to offer a foretaste of the pc of the future, which is increasingly full of automation and designed to allow maximum customisation. Because of this, when the owner walks away from the PC, it closes itself so that the data it contains is kept safe.
