The Italian startup Talos helps mobile app developers fix their cyber-vulnerabilities across time

Luca Verderame is the founder and CEO of the startup Talos, founded in 2016. The startup focuses on mobile security, and in particular it helps app developers identify and solve cyber-vulnerabilites. In this interview, Luca gives an insight on the type of service Talos provides, how it adapts to the needs of different clients, and how it keeps up to date with the rapidly changing cybersecurity landscape.

Since it is hard to solve problems that have not occurred yet, cybersec experts mostly lag one step behind cyber-criminals. In order to make and to keep an app sacure, it is important that Talos develops long-lasting relationships with their clients, updating and evolving their service to address the new cyber-threats. This means that an app can only be guaranteed to be secure today, and that cybersecurity is a task that is never completed and archived, but it is rather an ongoing process.

Talos was founded at the University of Genoa, in Italy. Besides Luca Verderame, the team includes Alessandro Armando (University of Genoa), Alessio Merlo (University of Genoa), and Gabriele Costa (IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca).
