Amazon and India sign a deal to support local content
To encourage local content, Amazon India has partnered with the information and broadcasting ministry of the nation. The company will advertise made-in-India products internationally. In addition, it will offer state-run film institute students internships and scholarships.
According to a release, this cooperation will incorporate several Amazon services in India, including Prime Video, miniTV, Amazon Music, Alexa, IMDb, and its marketplace business. The ministry’s publication division will also select books and journals for Amazon. in’s retail feature to highlight.
Prime Video and miniTV will strive to give students at the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute and the Film and Television Institute of India internships and scholarships. In addition, classic content from the NFDC, Doordarshan, and the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) will be featured on Prime Video and miniTV to honour the festivities surrounding the 75th anniversary of Indian independence. The first flagship store for iPhone manufacturer Apple will soon open in Mumbai, India’s financial centre.
“Inspired by the iconic Kaali Peeli taxi art unique to Mumbai, the Apple BKC creative includes colourful interpretations of the decals combined with many Apple products and services that will be available for our customers to discover,” Apple said in a statement to Tech in Asia.
Apple has over 500 stores in renowned international destinations like New York, Dubai, London, and Tokyo. Every store has undergone refurbishment to “feel like a town square” and serve as a location for public events. Kairous Capital has established the Malaysia-China Digital Cooperation Council for tech investment
The Malaysia-China Digital Cooperation Council (MCDCC) and the Malaysia-China Digital Cooperation & Development Fund have been established thanks to two Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) that Kairous Capital, a venture capital firm with its headquarters in Malaysia, has signed with Digital Way Group and China Silk Road Group.
The MCDCC seeks to enhance technological and innovative cooperation between Malaysian and Chinese businesses. The Malaysia-China Digital Cooperation & Development Fund would put up to MYR1 billion ($226.28 million) into digital technology fields in Malaysia and China, such as big industrial data, digital applications, advanced manufacturing technology, and industrial technology.
Launch of cross-border QR payments connectivity by Singapore and Malaysia
A cross-border QR code payment linkage between Singapore’s Monetary Authority (MAS) and Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) has been established, allowing consumers of partner financial institutions to make retail payments by scanning NETS QR and DuitNow QR codes. The payment linkage would enable cross-border online e-commerce and in-person payments by scanning tangible QR codes displayed by businesses.
