OpenAI launches ChatGPT Enterprise, the AI assistant for companies

OpenAI announced the launch of ChatGPT Enterprise, which offers enterprise-grade security and privacy, unlimited access to high-speed GPT-4, longer context windows for processing longer inputs, advanced data analytics capabilities, customization and much more. OpenAI believes that artificial intelligence can assist and improve every aspect of our working lives and make teams more creative and productive. According to the company, this announcement marks another step towards an AI assistant for work that helps get everything done, is customized for the organization and protects company data.

Since the launch of ChatGPT just nine months ago, OpenAI has seen teams adopt it in more than 80% of Fortune 500 companies. Feedback from business leaders has been that they would like an easy and secure way to implement it in their organization. Early adopters of ChatGPT Enterprise – companies like Block, Canva, Carlyle, The Estée Lauder Companies, PwC and Zapier – are redefining the way they do business and are using ChatGPT to create clearer communications, accelerate coding efforts, quickly explore responses to complex business questions, assist creative work and much more.

More AI-way to the enterprise

The user, OpenAI, underlines, owns and controls their corporate data in ChatGPT Enterprise. OpenAI does not train on company data or customer conversations, and OpenAI models do not learn from customer usage. ChatGPT Enterprise is also SOC 2 compliant, and all conversations are encrypted in transit and at rest. OpenAI’s new admin console allows easy management of team members and offers domain verification, SSO, and usage insights, enabling large-scale enterprise deployment. A key difference between ChatGPT Enterprise and the consumer version, reports CNBC, who interviewed Brad Lightcap, COO of OpenAI, is that this new tool will allow customers to enter company data to train and customize ChatGPT for their industries and business cases. Use, although some of these features are not yet available at launch.

ChatGPT Enterprise also eliminates all usage limits and is up to twice as fast, says OpenAI. The 32k context included in the enterprise allows users to process inputs or files that are four times longer. ChatGPT Enterprise also offers unlimited access to advanced data analytics, formerly known as Code Interpreter. This feature allows technical and non-technical teams to analyze information in seconds, whether financial researchers analyzing market data, marketers analyzing survey results or data scientists debugging a script extension. It is also possible to use OpenAI’s new shared chat templates to collaborate and create common workflows. Who needs to extend it into a completely custom solution for the organization? The pricing also includes free credits for using the API. ChatGPT Enterprise is already available: technical information and how to contact the company regarding the new Enterprise plan are available on the OpenAI website.

A logical move

Earlier this year, Microsoft’s expanded investment in OpenAI — an additional $10 billion — made it the biggest AI investment of the year. In April, the startup reportedly closed a $300 million share sale at a valuation between $27 billion and $29 billion, with investments from firms such as Sequoia Capital and Andreessen Horowitz. Two months after ChatGPT’s launch in November, it surpassed 100 million monthly active users, breaking records for the fastest-growing consumer application in history.
