Ebo Air, more than a surveillance camera

Enabot’s Ebo Air is one of the cutest indoor video surveillance robots around. It moves easily and performs its function very well. It is also nice; thanks to the two-way audio and the app, you can communicate with whoever is in the house, and it also takes photos and shoots good-quality videos.

Ebo Air fits in one hand, so it has a compact size. Its modern, simple, clean design and rounded shape inspire sympathy immediately. At the base, we have two tracked wheels that allow it to move easily around the house; a kitten’s footprint is printed on the rubber and specially designed also with the intention of not frightening the pets and instead being able to follow and monitor them if we want and even interact with them remotely. The EBO Air can identify people, pets, and obstacles thanks to AI and ToF (Time-of-Flight) technology. The device has surveillance features, including 24-hour video recording, motion detection and infrared night vision; if the robot detects unusual behaviour, it will trigger an alarm.

The design

The colour is white except for the black central band where the camera is in the centre and, when switched on, on one side a heart and the other we have the Wi-Fi and camera symbol; on the top is the microphone, on the back the SD card slot and the speaker. In addition to the wheels, we find the connectors for charging and the reset button at the base.

The charging base is white and small in size. At the top is the LED, which, when green, indicates that charging is complete. It should be placed strategically so that it is easy for the robot to access and recharge itself without encountering too many obstacles. This is not because it cannot avoid obstacles but to enable it to retreat quickly when recharging. It has been strategically placed because Ebo Air can also record while it is charging.

How it works

The first step is to download the Ebo app, available for iOS and Android, and complete the classic registration procedures. Then we connect with the robot, which must be placed on the charging base; once we have entered the Wi-Fi password and scanned the QR code, we can start using our smart mobile robot for video surveillance. From the main account, access can also be granted to other family members.

Ebo Air can carry out continuous surveillance 24 hours a day and can also film while on the charging base. Via the app, it can send an alarm notification if an anomaly is detected or specifically a movement with the detection function activated; ‘automatic patrolling’ can be set by setting the time; and thanks to the high-definition infrared camera, even recordings made at night return sharp, quality images.

The robot moves easily in all directions, enabling it to reach all corners. Suppose we decide to communicate remotely with family members. In that case, we can even go a little further and not limit ourselves to communication (with two-way voice) but move on to interaction, effectively transforming Ebo Air into a little playmate out of the box.

Through the robot, we can also capture cute and unique moments with shots and videos using the 1080p HD camera to edit and share. We can see at any time what is happening in the house by connecting through the application; the only limitation, if we want to call it that, is that those at home cannot see us.
