Xiaomi SU7 Ultra unveiled: the ultimate performance technology Sedan

Xiaomi launched the ultimate performance technology sedan — Xiaomi SU7 Ultra. As the high-performance flagship EV of Xiaomi, Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is designed for high-performance driving by combining exceptional performance with cutting-edge technology to deliver an extraordinary driving experience. Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is equipped with the same tri-motor configuration and track-optimized battery pack as Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Prototype (prototype car), delivering a maximum horsepower of 1548PS. With 0-100km/h acceleration in only 1.98s (without one foot rollout), and a designed maximum speed of 350km/h, it is built to be the fastest four-door mass-produced car. Xiaomi SU7 Ultra features a track-optimized cooling system, ensuring it can complete two laps on the Nürburgring Nordschleife without overheating.

It is also equipped with a top-level braking system, achieving a braking distance of only 30.8m from 100km/h to 0. Xiaomi SU7 Ultra also comes with a peak chassis system tuned for the Nürburgring Nordschleife, delivering better chassis control and a higher control ceiling. As a four-door “race car”, it is track-ready straight from the factory. In addition, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra offers multiple upgrades in smart driving, smart cockpit, safety and luxury experience.

On October 28 (German time), Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Prototype completed its first Nürburgring Nordschleife lap challenge, breaking the seven-year record for the fastest four-door sedan with a time of 6’46″874 — making the first time a Chinese brand has claimed the title of “The Nürburgring Nordschleife World’s Fastest Four-Door Car”. Xiaomi EV will keep exploring breakthrough innovations in pure electric technology and validating its cars through the Nürburgring Nordschleife testing. The mass-produced version of Xiaomi SU7 Ultra will also challenge the Nürburgring Nordschleife next year.

Born for high-performance: From street to track, where beauty meets function

The design of Xiaomi SU7 Ultra prioritizes peak performance, with each new design element serving functional purposes, free from unnecessary decoration. For exterior design, Xiaomi SU7 Ultra builds on Xiaomi SU7 Max with an added aerodynamic kit and larger body dimensions. At 5115mm length, 1970mm width, 1465mm height, and 3000mm wheelbase, the body is longer, lower, and presents a more aggressive, battle-ready stance.

The front of Xiaomi SU7 Ultra features an oversized front splitter and air dam, along with “U-shaped” air curtains to effectively increase the downforce of the front of the car. The enlarged air intake grille opening allows the heat dissipation area to be increased by 10%. An active rear diffuser has been added, with two-speed adaptive adjustment, balancing wind resistance and downforce, and energy efficiency for daily driving. Additionally, a new carbon fiber fixed rear spoiler (1560mm wingspan, 240mm chord length) delivers considerable downforce at high speeds. Thanks to the new aerodynamic design, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra achieves a maximum downforce of 285kg, comparable to that of a supercar.

The interior of Xiaomi SU7 Ultra emphasizes sportiness through upgraded seats and steering wheel design. The new sports seats feature enhances active side support with faster response speed and larger support area, providing better body control during intense driving. The seats showcase exclusive track embroidery stripes and Ultra embroidered logo, adding to the sporty aesthetic.

The steering wheel of Xiaomi SU7 features a completely new design, adopting a race-designed flat top and bottom. The material has been upgraded to carbon fiber. The grip is covered with Alcantara®️ microfiber fabric, which is not easy to slip. A yellow centering marker at the 12 o’clock aids steering wheel during intense handling. The new design, coupled with the yellow seat belts and the red Boost button on the steering wheel, creating a race-ready cockpit atmosphere at the interior of Xiaomi SU7 Ultra.

The interior materials of Xiaomi SU7 Ultra are also further enhanced, with Italian Alcantara®️ microfiber fabric extensively used throughout the car, covering over 5m². The material wraps the full seat contact surfaces, steering wheel grip areas, dashboard stitching, and the interior door panels, delivering a premium feel and a more immersive driving environment.

The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra extensively uses carbon fiber materials, enhancing sportiness and reducing weight. Interior carbon fiber elements include the front-seat back panels, center console panel, and door sill plates, reinforcing the athletic aesthetic. For exterior design, Xiaomi SU7 Ultra features a 1.7m² large carbon fiber roof*, reducing weight by 12kg. Carbon fiber appears in 17 locations, totaling 3.74m². 90% of these components are manufactured using premium hot press process, ensuring superior texture and quality.

As Xiaomi’s high-performance EV flagship, Xiaomi SU7 Ultra shares the same power system with the prototype car, delivering peak performance.

Xiaomi SU7 Ultra generates a maximum horsepower of 1548PS and accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in just 1.98s (without one foot rollout). It sets new benchmark as the world’s first mass-produced four-door sedan to achieve 0 to 200km/h in just 5.86s and to reach a designed maximum speed of 350km/h.

The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra’s peak performance is backed by advanced technology. It shares the prototype’s tri-motor configuration – two V8s e-motors and one V6s e-motor, marking the first mass production of Xiaomi’s self-developed HyperEngine V8s. The HyperEngine V8s achieves a maximum revolution of 27,200rpm, making it the highest-revolution and most powerful mass-produced main drive e-motor available. Xiaomi EV has consistently committed to research and development (R&D) investments and upheld innovation. As of today, it has applied for 242 patents in the field of electric motor and electric power control unit, of which 128 have been granted. Xiaomi’s self-developed electric drive also won the “Global New Energy Vehicle Frontier and Innovation Technology Award” at the 2024 World New Energy Vehicle Conference.

In terms of battery, Xiaomi SU7 Ultra features the same track-optimized, high-power battery pack as the prototype car, debuting CATL Qilin 2.0 battery. As one of the most powerful mass-produced battery packs available, it delivers a maximum discharge rate of 16C and a maximum discharge power of 1330kW. When the power is only 20% left, the discharge power can still reach 800kW. The highest charging rate is 5.2C, enabling 10% to 80% charging in just 11 minutes. The CLTC range reaches 630km, combing high performance and long range. Integrating Xiaomi’s CTB battery technology for higher volume efficiency, the battery pack features dual large-surface active cooling to ensure stronger battery heat dissipation capabilities and safety guarantees.

For electric vehicles to achieve long-lasting and stable high performance, they require exceptional systematic cooling capabilities. Xiaomi SU7 Ultra has upgraded its cooling system in all aspects. The performance of the compressor, water pump, cooling fan and radiator have all been greatly enhanced. The maximum heat dissipation per minute reaches 2.7*10^6J, triple the heat dissipation capacity of an ordinary EV, effectively ensuring that it will not overheat during two consecutive hot laps on the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is equipped with a top-level braking system, including carbon ceramic brake discs, high-performance fixed calipers, and high-performance brake pads. It achieves a braking distance from 100km/h to 0 in only 30.8m, and completes 10 consecutive 180km/h-0 braking tests without fading. The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra boasts the largest racing-grade carbon ceramic brake disc in a sports car. The diameter of the front brake disc reaches 430mm, which is the largest carbon ceramic disc currently equipped on a sedan. Compared with ordinary steel brake discs, carbon ceramic discs are more resistant to high temperatures, with a maximum operating temperature of more than 1300°C, which is more than twice that of ordinary steel brake discs. Carbon ceramic discs are also more wear-resistant and lighter. Its service life exceeds 500,000km, and it also reduces the weight of the entire vehicle by 57kg.

The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is also equipped with Akebono®️ high-performance brake calipers. The working areas of the fixed calipers with six pistons at front and four pistons at rear reach 148cm² and 93cm² respectively, delivering exceptional strong braking performance. Xiaomi SU7 Ultra also uses endurance racing-level ENDLESS®️ high-performance brake pads*, which can operate at a maximum temperature of 1100°C and keep the braking force stable. In addition, Xiaomi SU7 Ultra’s efficient braking energy regeneration system provides a maximum deceleration of 0.6g and a maximum regeneration power of over 400kW, greatly reducing brake system load.

Extraordinary driving experience: Track-tuned chassis system for the Nürburgring Nordschleife, Xiaomi SU7 Ultra comes track-ready straight from the factory

Xiaomi SU7 Ultra features a peak chassis system tuned for the Nürburgring Nordschleife, delivering better chassis control and a higher control ceiling. As a four-door “race car”, it comes track-ready straight from the factory.

For suspension, Xiaomi SU7 Ultra uses dual-chamber air springs and high-performance continuous damping control (CDC), providing a larger spring stiffness and damping adjustment range, making the standard mode more comfortable and the sports mode more sporty. It also provides track players with a professional-grade Bilstein®️ EVO T1 coilover shock absorber kit*, with a maximum spring stiffness of 300N/mm and a maximum damping force of 9000N. With 10 levels of compression and rebound damping adjustment, it comprehensively enhances the upper limit of control during acceleration, braking, and cornering, providing unparalleled support when cornering on the track. Users can choose dual-chamber air springs or coilover shock absorbers according to their needs.

When it comes to chassis control, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra tri-motor configuration achieves torque-vectoring control. The torque of the three e-motors is independently and dynamically distributed, and the e-motor torque is adjusted at a frequency of 500 times per second, which greatly enhances the vehicle’s handling and stability. During cornering, the system allocates more torque to outer wheels for faster steering response and corner exit speeds. When one side of the wheel encounters a slippery road, the system can automatically adjust the torque of the left and right wheels in milliseconds to help the vehicle pass more smoothly and quickly. This torque-vectoring control system is designed in accordance with the industry’s highest ASIL-D functional safety standard, and the fastest fault coordinated shutdown time is only 14ms, effectively ensuring the safety of the vehicle.

The chassis system of Xiaomi SU7 Ultra has undergone long-term tuning at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Since June 11, Xiaomi SU7 Ultra has started real-car testing at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, accumulating over 3,000km across 6 weeks of tuning. By using the world’s renowned Nürburgring Nordschleife as a proving ground, Xiaomi SU7 Ultra aims to provide users with peak handling performance.

Xiaomi SU7 Ultra has developed a powerful exclusive Racetrack Master app for track users. The Racetrack Master app can display full vehicle information, including real-time lap results, vehicle status, driving mode adjustment, etc. When drivers start racing, they can set a benchmarking lap time to display the difference between the current lap time and the benchmarking lap time in real time, maximizing competitive engagement. After the race, it supports historical lap statistics and visual analysis of results, and key parameters such as maximum speed, maximum G force, steering wheel angle, and braking force. As of today, Xiaomi EV has partnered with 20 professional tracks across China, adding track maps and rankings to the exclusive racetrack app. More professional tracks will be added in the future.

Xiaomi SU7 Ultra offers comprehensive driving modes for both track safety and daily driving use. For track performance, there are endurance mode, qualifying mode, drift mode, and master custom mode to choose from, bringing endless driving fun. For daily driving, options include beginner mode, economy mode, wet mode, sport mode, and custom mode, among others. In order to ensure safe driving, to activate track mode for the first time in the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, drivers must obtain driving skills or qualification certifications.
