CAST AI automated ‘Kubernetes Security Posture Management’ solution blocks 20 times more runtime threats than legacy security tools

KSPM enables cloud teams to detect and automatically remediate Kubernetes security threats

CAST AI, the leading Kubernetes automation platform, today announced the launch of its new Kubernetes Security Posture Management (KSPM) solution. KSPM provides real-time scanning of Kubernetes clusters for misconfigurations, image vulnerabilities, and compliance issues, while also detecting runtime anomalies and offering remediation solutions—including fully automated OS patching. Building on CAST AI’s existing container security features, this new KSPM solution marks a significant expansion of the company’s comprehensive Kubernetes Automation Platform.

“In our Series B funding announcement last November, we committed to expanding our platform’s capabilities and automating even more aspects of Kubernetes management. The launch of our new Kubernetes Security Posture Management solution is a clear example of delivering on that promise,” said Laurent Gil, CAST AI co-founder and Chief Product Officer. “What sets this product apart is its evolution from passive monitoring to active defense, with the ability to automatically remediate threats in real-time.”

Automation is critical due to the gap between traditional cloud security practices and the emerging demands of Kubernetes environments. Current security tools often focus on alert prioritization, leaving security engineers to manually assess and address threats—a process that is time-consuming and can allow risks to escalate. CAST AI’s KSPM bridges this gap by automating threat remediation, enhancing an organization’s security posture while increasing the effectiveness of security teams.

The new KSPM solution is a lightweight, out-of-the-box solution that seamlessly integrates with existing permission models. This means CAST AI customers can deploy it without the need for additional procurement cycles or security reviews.

The development of this product was heavily influenced by CAST AI’s partnerships with some of the world’s largest Kubernetes users.

“We required a robust security posture for our Kubernetes applications, particularly in detecting runtime threats. While some agentless tools were effective in identifying vulnerabilities, they fell short in detecting runtime threats. We’ve been using CAST AI’s KSPM product for several months, and it identifies and automatically blocks 20 times more runtime threats than other security tools,” said Adrien Carreira, head of infrastructure at Hugging Face, a leader in machine learning application tools.

“We’ve always valued CAST AI for its Kubernetes capacity management and cost optimization capabilities. When we learned about their new security product, we immediately deployed it. As with other CAST AI offerings, this new product was incredibly user-friendly, delivering security insights in a much more actionable format than our current vendor. Continuous monitoring for runtime threats is now a core part of our environment’s configuration,” said Ivan Gusev, principal cloud architect at OpenX.

“Since adopting CAST AI for our Kubernetes management, our security posture has become significantly more robust. The solution’s automated scanning, detailed dashboards, and actionable recommendations have greatly benefited both our Security and Infrastructure teams. With automation for cost optimization and the new integrated security features, CAST AI truly embodies the DevOps spirit,” said Jérémy Fridman, head of information security at PlayPlay.
