iPhone 16 and all new products unveiled by Apple

Apple new products: Four were supposed to be, and four were the new iPhones unveiled, only unlike in the past, in some ways, this time it is the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus that have received more improvements than the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, which, however, count on some relevant new features in video and photography. More than the device, however, Apple is also staking future chips on AI. For now, Apple Intelligence will only be available in English, while in 2025, it will arrive in Chinese, Japanese, French, and Spanish. For other languages and expressions of smaller markets, we will have to be patient before we can fish photos out of the gallery after describing them, get advice on how to frame a subject and look up the price of a pair of shoes or a car after framing them.

iPhone 16 Pro – iPhone 16 Pro Max

Ultrathin bezels and larger displays, 6.3” for iPhone 16 Pro and 6.9” for iPhone 16 Pro Max with Ceramic Shield protection, grade 5 titanium body to resist scratches, bumps and drops, A18 chip and a 48-megapixel sensor for main and ultra-wide-angle camera (catching up with others, because until last year there was a 12 MP sensor), with 12 MP telephoto with 5x zoom. New is Camera Control, the button on the right side that allows you to instantly open the camera, take photos, record videos, and adjust zoom, aperture, and exposure while shooting.

The other significant step forward for the two iPhone Pros is slow-motion in 4K at 120 fps for video, perfect for filming moving clips, especially of a sports nature. Also new is the Desert Titanium colour scheme. Also available from Sept. 20 in Natural Titanium, Black Titanium and White Titanium colours, the iPhone 16 Pro will be available in 128/256/512 GB and 1TB storage configurations starting at €1,239. The same colours and configurations are available for the iPhone 16 Pro Max, with the price starting at €1,489 (always remember that prices change between countries due to different taxation systems).

iPhone 16v – iPhone 16 Plus

While less popular than their bigger brothers, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus have several cards to play. One is the A18 processor, which is less energy-intensive and devoted to AI; another is the Camera Control shared with the two Pro models that definitely turn the phone into a camera. In a market where the aesthetic side matters, colouration may also be an element for which users will choose the two iPhones. Available in Ultramarine, Teal, Pink, White and Black, with prices starting at €979 for iPhone 16 and €1,129 for iPhone 16 Plus. However, these are the prices for the 128GB model, which I always advise against because it is insufficient space to store photos and videos. Better to add €120-€130 and get the 256GB model.

Apple Watch 10

Larger Oled screen and less thickness for Apple Watch 10, made with a mix of titanium and steel, waterproof and based on the watchOS 10 operating system, which can detect sleep apnea. Thanks to the built-in speaker, it can play music for a long time, also because the battery life is up to 18 hours, with a 0 to 80% charge in 30 minutes. Featuring a larger case than before (46 and 42 mm versus the previous 45 and 41 mm), the aluminum Apple Watch 10 is available in Pink Gold, Silver and Jet Black starting at €459, while the titanium version costs €809.

AirPods 4

Minor spotlight but major update also for earbuds with the launch of AirPods 4, revamped in design and H2 chip, thanks to which it will be possible to answer or reject a call by shaking your head to choose one of the two options. The addition that will make all the difference, however, is the ANC, which according to early tests is convincing in isolating the user while listening to the song and, conversely, in leaving outside ambient noise in the background. Good autonomy that touches 30 hours, new case, smaller and with Usb-C charging, two models available: with or without Active Noise Cancellation. Price: €149 the basic version, €199 the one with ANC.
